In January 2019, PROCON completed the studies and designs for the Improvement and Expansion of the Sanitary Sewer System in Chinandega project (financed by CABEI). The intervention expands sanitation coverage to 100% of the urban area through the design of 118 km of collection networks, 2.14 km of pumping main, 2,014 manholes, 3 pumping stations, 10,630 household connections, and a wastewater treatment plant. The project strengthens the city’s sanitation infrastructure and improves public health, social well-being, and environmental sustainability
